FAQS
Start in our Liberal Arts program. This transfer-focused program is very flexible and allows you to take classes in a variety of subject areas while discovering potential areas of interest. Along the way, you’ll learn skills valuable in any profession (communication, critical thinking, creative decision making, problem solving) and gain an appreciation of diverse perspectives. If you find an area that you want to pursue further, you can always change your major or you can stay in Liberal Arts – it all depends on your goals and what works best for you. Our advisors are here to help you through it all – you don’t have to do any of this on your own.
Yes. Most of our students attend part-time (part-time is considered less than 12 credits per semester).
Absolutely! Check out our听听and filter on 鈥淥nline Classes鈥 to see what鈥檚 available. You鈥檒l see a mix of general education classes and major courses that are offered in a 100% online format. Many classes are offered in multiple formats too. We also have hybrid classes that mix online and on-campus modes of delivery offering the best of both worlds.
Yes, this is a very popular path for many of our students. UNH is our most popular transfer destination, but we have transfer agreements with many public and private 4-year colleges and universities in New England and beyond. Once at Great Bay, you’ll meet with our academic advisors to plan out a pathway and ensure you stay on track for maximum credit transfer and attainment of your goals, while saving money. To see our existing pathways and learn more, visit our Transfer page.
Great Bay charges by the credit and most of our classes are 3 or 4 credits each. The 2026-2027 tuition rate for NH residents (and non-residents living within 50 miles of campus) is $263 per credit hour which includes a $25/credit comprehensive fee. Courses with labs and some of our specialized programs will have additional fees. Full-time students (30 credits per year) who qualify for in-state tuition will pay roughly $8,000 per year in tuition and fees.
For most of our programs, we have “rolling admissions” meaning you can apply and register for classes right up until the semester start. However, keep in mind that classes full up or low-enrolled classes might be cancelled as we get closer to the semester start so early enrollment will give you the best selection of classes.
The following programs start only in the fall:
- Nursing
- Surgical Technology
- Veterinary Technology
- Massage Therapy
- Automotive Technology
- Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair
Nursing, Surgical Technology and Veterinary Technology have application deadlines in the spring for fall enrollment. Welding, Massage Therapy, Automotive Technology, and Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair have limited capacity and normally fill up by early summer so early application and registration is important to ensure you get a seat. Visit the program pages for more information.
